4 of my favorite inspirational books

Hi everyone! In this week’s post, I am going to be talking about 4 of my favorite inspirational books. I’ve read all these books cover to cover more than two times each because they’re just so good. So, if you want to know a little about my favorite inspirational books, just keep reading.

1.  Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina by Michaela DePrince with Elaine DePrince

This novel is definitely a favorite. It is actually a memoir written by Michaela Deprince with her mother Elaine DePrince. In the novel, Michaela and Elaine tell Michaela’s story of rising from a war orphan in Sierra Leone to becoming a star ballerina. Michaela’s story is truly inspiring, not only for dancers, but for anyone who is trying to achieve their dreams.

2.  speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

This book is something that I think everyone should read. This novel will most definitely make you cry. It’s about 15 year old Melinda Sordino’s struggle to fit in in school, while keeping a secret about being sexually assaulted. Melinda’s story is so inspirational and I believe that you can relate to her in any way.

3.  Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson

Chains is another novel by Laurie Halse Anderson. It tells the story of an African-American slave named Isabel. After losing her mother and being sold to a cold-hearted couple, she makes it her mission to spy for the rebels during the Revolutionary War. This is another story that will move you to tears as Isabel tells her story of pain, hardship, and her struggle to figure out who she really is and become free.

4.  My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult

I love this book so much. It is about a family whose oldest daughter, Kate, suffers from leukemia. Anna, her younger sister, is the result of preimplantation genetic diagnosis to become the perfect bone marrow match to save her sister’s life. As Ana begins to question her character, she realizes that she is always doing things for her sister, and she testifies against her parents for medical custody. Ana’s decision will affect her family’s, mostly her sister’s, lives greatly.
