skincare routine *2019 updated*

Hi guys! Welcome back to my blog! I haven’t posted in a while, BUT I am so excited to create new content for you guys. I am working on a lot of special content (maybe even my first PR product feature !!!) In this post, I will be giving you guys my updated skincare routine. People are ALWAYS asking me what I use on my skin, so I decided to update you guys on what I’ve been using on my face. As always, I will link all the products mentioned at the end of the post. Enjoy!

REMOVE MAKEUP

The first step in my skincare routine is removing any makeup I have on. I use coconut oil to do this because it just melts all of the makeup and makes it super easy to remove. All you have to do it melt the coconut oil in your hands and massage it all over your face, breaking down any makeup. Then, take a hot, damp washcloth and wipe it all off. If I have on a full face of makeup I will do this process twice to ensure that all of my makeup is removed.

CLEANSE FACE (60 SECOND RULE)

The next step in my skincare routine is cleansing my face. I love the Burts’s Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream. It’s super gentle and does not strip your face of any of its natural oils. If you have sensitive skin, this cleanser may be a nice option for you, as it is fragrance-free unlike most cleansers being sold today. It also contains menthol, so there is a very refreshing cooling effect that feels amazing.

TONER

The third step in my routine is toning my face. This is a very important step, as it removes any residue left on the skin and resets your skin’s pH balance, therefore improving your skin’s quality. I use the Thayer’s Rose Witch Hazel to tone. I tone my face and neck TWICE to ensure my skin is clean and ready to absorb product. This toner is alcohol-free, non-drying, and effective in keeping my skin clear.

SUNSCREEN AND MOISTURIZER

The fourth and final step is sunscreen and moisturizer. Using sunscreen is so important for obvious reasons such as preventing sun damage and premature aging. Moisturizing is self-explanatory; it keeps your skin from being dry and flaky. I use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer/Sunscreen and Cetaphil Body Lotion. Both are non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin.

That is literally all I use on my face and my nighttime skincare is the EXACT same thing, minus the sunscreen and I do use a spot treatment when necessary.
